Carl J. Lamb Hosts Concerts and Arts Nights

The halls of Carl J. Lamb School were buzzing with excitement as students prepared to showcase their artistic and musical talents during the Spring Concert and Arts Nights.

Art and concert nights kicked off on Tuesday, April 30th, with performances by the youngest members of the school community, kindergarten and first graders. The stage was lit up with smiles as artists and musicians shared their talents with family and friends.

The artwork featured at these nights were chosen by the students, reflecting their individual interests. When asked about their selections, students shared their thoughts on why they chose particular artworks, the materials they used, and the stories behind their creations.

On Thursday, May 2nd, it was the turn of the second and third graders to take the spotlight. Their concert and art nights were filled with enchanting melodies and captivating artwork, showcasing the progression of skills and creativity among the students.

The concerts themselves were a delightful mix of musical genres, featuring songs from various artists such as Richard Rogers' "Do Re Mi" and the timeless classic "Fur Elise." However, it wasn't just about individual performances. Third graders took part in a spirited "Battle of the Bands," pitting ukuleles against bucket drums in a lively musical showdown. Carl J. Lamb students were joined by singers from Sanford High School for the finale performance.

Behind the scenes, the dedication and hard work of the school's talented teachers, Brittany Burke and Hattie Skvorak, have been instrumental in bringing these events to life.

As the Spring Concert and Arts Nights continue to unfold, they serve as a reminder of the power of art and music to inspire, uplift, and unite communities. Carl J. Lamb School is not just a place of learning; it's a vibrant hub of creativity where students are encouraged to explore their passions and share their gifts with the world.
