On May 8th, 2024 in the Sanford Performing Arts Center, 101 students from the Sanford Regional Technical Center will be inducted as the newest members of the National Technical Honor Society. New members will be recognized for their outstanding skill development and academic achievement in their Career & Technical courses at SRTC. The School Counseling office will be hosting a Financial Aid Night for the Class of 2025 on Wednesday, May 1st, @ 6 p.m., in the Performing Arts Center. This is a great opportunity for college bound juniors to learn about the financial aid process. Students are strongly encouraged to attend with parents/guardians. This morning, Carl J. Lamb's Spartan Show Choir hosted an Outreach concert for our Pre-K and Kindergarten students and families. The students chose songs, choreographed dances, and coordinated costumes to get ready!

The Sanford School Department and the York County Emergency Management Agency joined forces to help CMP workers during last week's storm. Central Maine Power (CMP) immediately took action in Sanford to assist with restoration efforts, but with several hundred auxiliary crews arriving, they faced the challenge of finding suitable accommodations for the line workers. Sanford High School Alternative Education Director Karen Webb was recently named a Binnie Media Golden Apple Award recipient. On Monday, two Sanford High School students were recognized at the Southwestern Maine Activities Association (SMAA) Citizenship banquet. Sydney Roux and Jared Riley won SMAA Citizenship Awards for Sanford. They received their awards at the Italian Heritage Center in Portland along with the other 16 member schools. Congratulations!

The National Honors Society’s Variety Show is tonight in the Sanford Performing Arts Center! Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m. It will be $3 for student entry and $5 for adults. Raffles and concessions will also be available.
